Over 500,000 pensioners may lose a third of their pensions due to a recalculation error by the Pension House. A recent Court of Accounts report revealed that many pensions were incorrectly calculated, leading to overpayments. These pensioners will need to repay the excess amounts, which could total significant sums. The report indicated that some pensions were overestimated by as much as 2,150 lei, resulting in potential repayments of up to 51,600 lei over two years. If they cannot repay, a portion of their monthly pension will be withheld until the debt is settled.
