Romania secured five medals at the 2026 World University Weightlifting Championships in Doha, including three for men and two for women. Paul Ioniță won three medals: two silver and one bronze in the 110 kg category. He achieved bronze in the snatch with 163 kg, silver in the clean and jerk with 196 kg, and another silver in total with 359 kg. Additionally, Cosmina Pană earned two silver medals in the 53 kg category, lifting 78 kg in the snatch and totaling 174 kg. All gold medals in her category were claimed by Taiwan's Cheng Ting-I.
