Romania is set to install 400 fixed speed cameras capable of automatic speed detection and license plate recognition. The project, valued at 82 million lei, is currently in the bidding phase. Major roads like DN1, DN6, and DN2 will host these cameras, which will also monitor traffic violations and verify road tax compliance. The implementation period is 22 months, and the system is not yet operational. The initiative aims to enhance traffic monitoring and improve road safety across the national network.
