31 de miliarde lipsă la bugetul de pensii și ajutoare sociale în 2026. Se mai pot indexa pensiile? • Newsweek România

A BNR analysis reveals a projected deficit of 31 billion lei in the pension and social aid budget by 2026, raising concerns about the sustainability of pension increases. The new pension law, effective from September 2024, recalculated pensions for 4.6 million individuals, resulting in an average increase of 520 lei. However, the financial obligations of the state have doubled due to these increases, necessitating additional funding to maintain the system. The report indicates that contributions are insufficient to cover pension payments, leading to reliance on state budget transfers. By 2026, an extra 1.5% of GDP is needed to support the system, equating to approximately 30.7 billion lei annually. Indexing pensions in 2027 may be limited to 6-8% due to budget constraints.
