3 din 10 mașini înmatriculate în România nu au RCA

Nearly 30% of registered vehicles in Romania lack valid RCA insurance, according to the latest data from the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF). However, ASF clarifies that this discrepancy does not necessarily indicate that these vehicles are on the road uninsured. The Bureau of Insurers of Motor Vehicles in Romania (BAAR) reports significant compensation costs due to accidents caused by uninsured vehicles. In the first half of 2026, BAAR paid 45.7 million lei for damages from accidents involving uninsured drivers. The trend of uninsured vehicles causing accidents has been consistent over recent years, with substantial compensation amounts reported.
