Transelectrica has inaugurated STATCOM installations in Sibiu and Bradu, a unique technology in Southern Europe, enhancing the National Electric System's stability. The project, costing 260 million lei, was completed ahead of schedule and funded by the Modernization Fund. It aims to improve the integration of renewable energy sources and ensure a more reliable power supply. The installations will dynamically regulate voltage and mitigate inter-zonal oscillations, addressing challenges posed by fluctuating renewable energy production.
