23 iulie, Aducerea moaştelor Sfântului Foca. Sărbătoare importantă în calendarul ortodox

On July 23, 2026, the Orthodox Church commemorates the transfer of the relics of Saint Phocas, a lesser-known martyr. Saint Phocas lived in Sinope during Emperor Trajan's reign and was martyred for his Christian faith. He welcomed soldiers sent to kill him, offering them hospitality while preparing for his fate. He spent his last night praying and sharing with the poor before revealing himself to the soldiers. His relics were later moved to Constantinople in 403, and he is honored annually on September 22.
