On August 22, 1456, Vlad the Impaler began his second reign in Wallachia after ousting Vladislav II. His rule lasted until November 1462, marked by strict order and conflicts with local cities. He supported Stephen the Great in Moldova and resisted Ottoman tribute, leading to a significant conflict with Sultan Mehmed II. Despite initial successes, Vlad was forced to retreat and was imprisoned by Matthias Corvinus for 12 years on charges of treason.
