Bulgarian border police evacuated 186 passengers from the Viking Ullur cruise ship stranded on the Danube due to low water levels. The ship ran aground near Vidin, and the evacuation was conducted with the help of a patrol boat. Passengers, all EU citizens, were assisted in boarding the rescue vessel. The ship was en route from Budapest to Romania and required supplies, including drinking water. Low water levels on the Danube have complicated navigation amid recent heatwaves in Europe.
