16 ruși, prinși că au încercat să obțină acte de identitate românești cu documente false de cetățenie • Newsweek România

Sixteen Russian nationals have been indicted for using false citizenship documents to obtain Romanian identity cards. They allegedly used fake certificates claiming Romanian citizenship from various Romanian consulates and embassies. Between February and July 2024, they managed to register their births and obtain Romanian personal identification numbers and birth certificates. Subsequently, they acquired identity cards and electronic passports based on these fraudulent documents. Prosecutors are seeking to annul the false citizenship certificates and related civil status records. The case has been forwarded to the Câmpulung Moldovenesc Court, and previous guilty pleas have been recorded in similar cases.
