16 clase de liceu, desființate în Timiș din lipsă de elevi

In Timiș County, a record number of 16 ninth-grade classes were dissolved this school year due to insufficient student enrollment. The head of the Timiș School Inspectorate, Aura Danielescu, attributed this situation to changes in access to vocational education, as all students participated in a computerized admission process. This led to a significant number of unfilled places, with around 800 vacancies remaining after the first admission stage. The elimination of vocational schools and the new admission system have resulted in many students, particularly from rural areas, not enrolling in the education system. The school year 2026-2027 began on September 7, 2026, and will end on June 18, 2027, with new curricula being introduced for ninth graders.
