Former presidential candidate Călin Georgescu is set to be taken to Central Arrest after being detained for 24 hours on charges of organized crime and fraud. Around 150 supporters gathered outside to show their support, holding banners and chanting slogans. Georgescu was previously questioned by prosecutors and is accused of defrauding a businessman of approximately 1.1 million euros, with part of the funds allegedly used for his electoral campaign. This marks the third case against him, including allegations of promoting extremist propaganda and actions against constitutional order.
