The Romanian government is investing 150 million euros in new energy storage facilities, announced interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. These installations will be directly connected to the National Energy System and aim to add at least 2,174 MWh of new storage capacity. The funding will be available for companies of all sizes in the electricity sector, with a focus on projects requiring the least financial support per MWh. Applications can be submitted from September 1 to October 30, 2026, with contracts expected to be signed in early 2027.
