14 oameni au murit pe munte în august. Salvamont avertizează că are prea puțini salvatori
In August, Romanian mountain rescuers conducted over 500 rescue operations, saving 667 individuals, while 14 fatalities were reported. The month marked the peak of the summer tourist season, with an average of 650 to 700 rescuers deployed daily. Although the number of interventions decreased compared to the previous year, rescuers assisted many injured individuals, transferring 185 to emergency services. The National Salvamont Dispatch received numerous calls regarding mountain accidents and fires, alongside nearly 2,000 inquiries from tourists about trails. Despite the high demand, the operational capacity of mountain rescue teams is only 18.75%. Currently, around 860 certified mountain rescuers are active, including both employees and volunteers.
