11 septembrie 2026: 25 de ani de la atacurile teroriste din SUA. Printre victime, mai mulți români, inclusiv un bărbat din Abrud
On September 11, 2001, significant terrorist attacks occurred in the U.S., resulting in the deaths of 2,977 individuals, including five Romanian-Americans. Among them was Joshua Poptean from Abrud, who was attending a meeting at the World Trade Center. The attacks involved hijacked planes crashing into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. A Romanian children's choir was also in New York during the attacks, facing uncertainty and concern from their families back home. They were eventually assisted by the Salvation Army and remained in the U.S. longer than planned, participating in charitable activities for victims' families.
