11 octombrie: Sfântul Apostol Filip. Cine a fost diaconul pomenit în Faptele Apostolilor

Saint Apostle Philip, celebrated on October 11, is recognized as a deacon who assisted the early Christian community. He is noted for his preaching in Samaria and baptizing an Ethiopian official. Distinct from the Apostle Philip among the twelve disciples, he played a significant role in helping the needy. After facing persecution in Jerusalem, he spread the faith in Samaria and later met the Ethiopian treasurer, explaining scripture and baptizing him. Philip is also mentioned in Caesarea, where he had four daughters who prophesied. Tradition holds that he continued his missionary work in Asia Minor and died peacefully in Caesarea.
