Romanian authorities, in collaboration with European partners, seized approximately 1.7 tons of drugs in a significant operation. The drugs, valued at around 25 million euros, were discovered in four separate shipments across France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. The operation, named MATRIX, targeted an organized crime group involved in drug trafficking from Spain to various European countries. The Romanian Minister of Internal Affairs, Cătălin Predoiu, emphasized the importance of this success and the allocation of resources to combat drug trafficking. The investigation involved extensive cooperation with international law enforcement agencies.
