**What was analyzed:** The statements of Siegfried Mureșan accusing Sorin Grindeanu of avoiding the position of prime minister and the criticisms directed at PSD regarding the budget deficit and governance in 2025. **What sources confirm:** Press reports faithfully confirm the political statements made by Siegfried Mureșan regarding Sorin Grindeanu and PSD, while official data attest that Romania was facing a severe budget deficit and financial risks during the mentioned period. **Limitations:** The exact figure of the deficit and the risks of insolvency reflect the political rhetoric of an opponent, although the reported deficit for 2025 was subsequently revised downwards (to about 7.9%), and the claims regarding Sorin Grindeanu's psychological motivation remain political opinions. **Conclusion:** The article accurately reports the actual statements and accusations made by Siegfried Mureșan, but their content includes both partially nuanced real economic facts and subjective political…

Recommended next steps
- Consulting official Eurostat reports and the Ministry of Finance regarding the monthly and annual evolution of the ESA deficit for 2025.
- Monitoring public responses formulated by PSD representatives or Sorin Grindeanu to the accusations made.
Analysis limitations
- The exact figure of 9.3% for the deficit represents an evaluation/projection invoked by PNL leaders, while the consolidated annual execution for 2025 showed a lower figure (7.9%).
- The motivations attributed to PSD leaders represent political interpretations from the opposition/coalition partners, without the possibility of verifying subjective intent.
- A secondary statement remains problematic and is not covered by the general verdict: 'In June 2025, Marcel Ciolacu left the country with a budget deficit of 9.3%, with a major risk of blocking European funds and a real risk of insolvency.'
- The central statement is verified only through secondary media reports — among the cited evidence, no primary source appears (the named publication, the court portal, the original document).
- Official data from the Ministry of Finance or Eurostat showing that in June 2025 the actual or forecasted deficit was completely different from the one invoked.
- A public denial from Siegfried Mureșan regarding the authenticity of the attributed statements.
Manipulation techniques detected
- Emotional Language
- Crisis Framing
- Personal Attack
