This advancement allows solar energy to contribute significantly to electricity needs during evening hours, with 24% of demand met between 7 PM and 9 PM in early 2023. Other regions like California and Chile are also seeing increased solar energy usage after sunset. However, the EU lags behind in battery development, with only 16% of new solar production being stored. The global solar energy production is on the rise, with a record 10% of electricity generated from solar in the first half of 2026, highlighting the need for effective storage solutions to meet evening demand.
