The index has risen by 47.1% since the beginning of the year, placing Romania seventh worldwide and first in Europe. The market capitalization reached a historic high of 704.8 billion lei, reflecting a 35% increase from the end of 2025. The energy and banking sectors significantly contributed to this growth, with the energy index BET-NG rising by 90% over the past year. The number of active investment accounts has also surged, indicating a maturation of the Romanian capital market.
