Bulgaria devine noul lider al Europei în stocarea energiei electrice

Bulgaria has emerged as a leader in energy storage in Europe, driven by solar energy expansion and significant EU funding. The country now stores a larger share of its electricity production than any other EU member, despite recent political instability. Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov has played a key role in this growth, inaugurating a major battery storage unit. Bulgaria's installed storage capacity has surged, supported by government initiatives and private investments. The rapid increase in solar energy has highlighted the need for storage solutions, as excess solar production was previously wasted. However, the swift expansion poses risks, including potential market congestion and reliance on expiring subsidies.
