Rareș Toader achieved fifth place in the shot put event at the European Championships in Birmingham, marking his best performance at this level. He threw 20.80 meters, just shy of fourth place. The podium was led by Leonardo Fabbri from Italy, followed by Zane Weir and Wictor Petersson. Other Romanian athletes also advanced in their respective events, including Sorin Dringo in the 400 meters and Elena Taloș in the triple jump.
