Ambasadoarea Ucrainei în Bulgaria, convocată de ministrul bulgar de Externe pentru drona ucraineană prăbușită în apropierea infrastructurii critice
The Ukrainian ambassador to Bulgaria, Olesya Ilashchuk, was summoned after a Ukrainian drone crashed near the Romanian border. The drone, a Maya decoy, exploded on a sunflower field close to critical gas infrastructure. Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry stated there is no evidence of intentional targeting, and Ukraine promised to investigate the incident. Ilashchuk, appointed in December 2022, has faced criticism for her lack of diplomatic experience and previous profession as a sexologist. Some observers suggest her appointment may be a strategic response to Bulgaria's perceived hesitance in supporting Ukraine.
