The Bucharest City Hall announced the modernization of bus, tram, and trolleybus shelters, with around 1,000 out of 2,000 stations needing replacement. The project was approved by the General Council and aims to enhance passenger comfort against heat and sun exposure. A prioritized list for upgrades will be created based on various criteria, including degradation level and passenger numbers. Improvements will include UV protection films, replacement of transparent surfaces, and the use of materials that filter UV rays and reduce heat transfer. The project will be implemented in phases, in collaboration with local transport authorities.
