The mayor of Cluj-Napoca, Emil Boc, addressed concerns regarding the city's plan to eliminate housing in Pata Rât by 2030, emphasizing social integration through work and education. He stated that rented homes will only be allocated to families with jobs and children in school, ensuring they can meet their financial obligations. The municipality has already purchased 110 apartments for relocation, with 600 individuals successfully integrated into new communities. The local council approved a legal mechanism for acquiring more homes for those in informal settlements, using the SIEG tool to comply with public service regulations.
