The National Company Bucharest Airports has signed a contract worth 134 million lei for a photovoltaic park near Henri Coandă International Airport. The project includes a solar power plant with a capacity of 12.6 MWp and an energy storage system of 17.88 MWh, expected to be completed by December 2027. This initiative aims to enhance the airport's energy independence, reduce electricity costs, and minimize environmental impact through renewable energy sources. The project is partially funded by a non-repayable grant of 132 million lei from a national program supporting renewable energy investments.
