The Russian Embassy in Colombia denied any involvement with alleged networks recruiting Colombian mercenaries for global conflicts, following a report by Noticias Caracol. The embassy stated it has no connection to the recruiters mentioned and is unaware of their funding. Colombian families of those providing security services abroad reported mistreatment in Russia and Ukraine. President Gustavo Petro claims at least 7,000 Colombians are fighting in these countries for money. The UN estimated that over 10,000 Colombians have been recruited for armed conflicts worldwide, often under inhumane conditions.
