The A1 Pitești - Sibiu highway in Romania may see a 9.8 km section completed ahead of schedule in 2026, with current work nearing 95% completion. The contractor, PORR, has mobilized significant resources to finalize the project, which includes various construction activities such as asphalt laying and installation of safety features. The completion of this section will allow traffic on approximately 54 km of the total 122 km highway. The contract value is 1.678 billion lei, funded through the Transport Program 2021-2027.
