The Romanian Railway Reform Authority has completed preliminary acceptance for two Traxx Passenger electric locomotives and put one into commercial service. These locomotives, built by Alstom, are part of a contract for 16 multisystem electric locomotives aimed at reducing carbon emissions in rail transport. The project will enhance energy efficiency and service quality while covering major interregional routes. The total project value is approximately 441 million lei, funded by the Modernization Fund.
