România poate un hub regional de energie nucleară
Nuclearelectrica's shareholders approved the continuation of the Doicești nuclear project, which will be the first in Europe to use small modular reactors (SMR). Despite opposition from interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, the project aims to enhance Romania's energy security and contribute to the green transition. The investment is estimated at 6-7 billion euros and will utilize technology from NuScale Power. The project is expected to provide stable, low-emission energy and could help address Bucharest's energy crisis by producing both electricity and thermal energy. Experts believe it will position Romania as a regional nuclear energy hub.
