Five new electric locomotives have arrived in Romania, capable of reaching speeds of 200 km/h, but only on limited routes. They will be operational soon, as part of a contract for 16 new locomotives aimed at modernizing the aging Romanian rail fleet. Despite the arrival of these new trains, many existing ones are still quite old, with some dating back 30 to 50 years.
