Taxele pe benzină în România sunt mai mari decât valoarea ei comercială: „Statul transformă cel mai ieftin produs în cel mai scump”
In Romania, gasoline is cheaper than in neighboring countries before taxes, but becomes the most expensive after tax application. The president of the Intelligent Energy Association highlights that high taxes negate the initial price advantage. As of July 31, 2026, gasoline costs 1.785 euros per liter in Romania, while it is cheaper in Bulgaria, Hungary, and Poland before taxes. The analysis shows that taxes in Romania exceed the commercial value of gasoline, leading to higher prices at the pump. This situation results in consumers paying significantly more due to the tax burden rather than the base price of gasoline.
