European countries are expected to raise retirement ages due to an aging population and pressure on pension systems. In Romania, men and women will retire at 67, an increase of nearly five years. The average retirement age in the EU will also rise, with Denmark projected to have the highest at 74. Governments are gradually increasing retirement ages to maintain pension sustainability.
