BCR reported a record profit of over 1.2 billion lei in the first half of 2026, with 40% of loans granted through the George app. The bank's net commission income rose by 15.5%, while net interest income increased by 1.5%. BCR continues to focus on financial education and responsible lending, aiming to improve Romania's financial literacy. The bank's operational result grew by 1.6% year-on-year, supported by higher operational income despite increased expenses. The total net loan portfolio increased by 9.9%, with significant growth in mortgage loans. BCR also approved new corporate loans worth approximately 6.5 billion lei, targeting strategic sectors.
