Parlamentul din Myanmar aprobă pedeapsa cu moartea pentru infracţiunile grave legate de fraudele online
Myanmar's parliament has passed a law imposing severe penalties, including the death penalty, for using forced labor in online fraud operations. The legislation was approved after discussions between the two parliamentary chambers. It includes harsh penalties for violence and illegal detention aimed at forcing individuals into online scams. If such actions result in the death of the exploited person, the death penalty will be applied. This is the first law enacted since the establishment of the new government, which has faced international criticism for its legitimacy following a military coup in 2021.
