Turkish company Otokar has delivered the first batch of COBRA II armored vehicles produced in Romania to the Romanian Land Forces, marking the start of series production under a contract for 1,059 vehicles. The Mediaș factory is Otokar's first production site in the EU and aims to develop a complete production capacity and technology transfer to the local defense industry. The facility employs over 300 workers, with plans to expand to 400, focusing on recruiting and training local specialists. The COBRA II vehicle, used by NATO and allied forces, is designed for various military missions.
