Extreme weather events are increasing awareness among Romanians about climate risks, leading to a decline in confidence regarding their homes' resilience. A recent IRES survey shows that only 68% believe their homes can withstand climate impacts, down 10 percentage points from 2025. Most respondents link climate change to extreme weather, with storms and heatwaves being the most reported issues affecting homes. Many have taken measures like recycling and energy conservation, while others plan improvements such as installing heat pumps. UNSAR's campaign encourages proactive steps for home safety against climate risks, emphasizing the importance of insurance for financial protection.
