Familia de care n-ai auzit, din care descind toți regii Europei de azi. Regele Charles III face parte din ea • Newsweek România

The House of Oldenburg, a lesser-known noble family, is the ancestral line of all current European monarchs, including King Charles III of the UK. Originating in northwestern Germany, the family rose to prominence in the 15th century when Christian of Oldenburg became king of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Over the centuries, the family branched out, producing monarchs in various countries, including Russia and Greece. The Glücksburg branch, which emerged later, continues to influence royal families in Denmark, Norway, and the UK. Notably, King Charles III and Norway's King Haakon VIII are direct descendants of Egilmar I, the first known count of Oldenburg.
