S-au aprins luminile în tunelul Curtea de Argeș de pe A1 Sibiu–Pitești: urmează testele înainte de deschidere / video

The Curtea de Argeș tunnel on the Sibiu-Pitești Highway is undergoing extensive testing with thousands of sensors and smart systems, potentially allowing for early traffic opening. The lighting system on Section 4, connecting Tigveni to Curtea de Argeș, has been completed and is now being verified. The tests cover the entire 9.86 km stretch, including bridges and access points. The National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) is checking the safety installations and equipment. The tunnel, about 1.35 km long, is Romania's first bored tunnel on a highway, equipped with over 2,500 sensors and smart cameras for traffic safety. The opening of this section depends on the completion of safety system tests and project acceptance, with a contractual deadline of February 2027, although early opening is possible. After opening, drivers will have access to 54 km of the 122 km Sibiu-Pitești Highway, crucial for connecting Transylvania to the south of the country.
