Președintele IICCMER critică dur PNL după votul privind martirii din temnițele comuniste: „Mai pot rosti numele Brătienilor?”

Daniel Șandru, head of IICCMER, criticized PNL senators for their vote against changing the commemoration date for victims of communist prisons. The proposed law aimed to shift the date from May 14 to August 16, marking significant events in Romania's communist history. Out of 11 PNL senators present, one voted against while ten abstained, which Șandru found incomprehensible given PNL's historical context. He urged them to reflect on their party's legacy, particularly the Brătianu family. The Senate ultimately rejected the proposal with a majority against it, highlighting political divisions on this sensitive issue.
