The Romanian government has allocated an additional 2 billion lei to the budgets of the Ministries of Transport and Environment to cover overdue payments for PNRR projects. Interim Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare emphasized the importance of maintaining investment momentum despite financial blockages. This funding aims to ensure liquidity for companies, support subcontractors, and sustain economic activity and jobs nationwide. Nazare highlighted the responsible management of public finances as crucial for anticipating needs and directing resources effectively. As of October 12, 44.3 billion lei have been paid from the state budget for PNRR projects.
