Promenadă la înălțime pe terasamentul fostei căi ferate din Sovata / Proiect unic în ţară de reconversie / Primar: ”Sunt viaducte construite în perioada Austro-Ungariei”
The modernization of the old narrow-gauge railway viaduct in Sovata, funded by over 25.1 million lei, aims to transform it into a sustainable urban corridor and pedestrian route. The project, which has been in the planning stages since December, will rehabilitate the nearly century-old structure, preserving its historical architecture while creating a green space for pedestrians and cyclists. The bidding process is currently underway, with nine firms competing for the contract. The project is expected to take about four years from contract signing to completion, with a focus on enhancing local tourism and public safety. This unique initiative is the first of its kind in Romania since similar structures were built during the Austro-Hungarian period.
