Lia Savonea, the president of the High Court of Cassation and Justice, has recently won a significant legal battle against the government regarding unpaid salaries for judges. Her gross salary from the High Court is approximately 40,914 lei, with additional bonuses for stress and confidentiality, bringing her total earnings to at least 51,600 lei gross. As a member of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM), she receives a monthly allowance of 13,921 lei gross, along with other bonuses, totaling nearly 17,900 lei gross from CSM. Overall, her net monthly income from both positions is around 40,000 lei. This figure may be higher, considering her predecessor earned 65,000 lei net monthly.
