The Sibiu Local Council will hold an extraordinary meeting to approve projects for energy storage from renewable sources. This involves installing 10 energy storage systems linked to photovoltaic panels on public buildings. The total investment is approximately 4.1 million lei, with funding sought from the Modernization Fund. The systems will have a storage capacity of 2.34 MWh, allowing surplus energy to be stored and used locally, reducing CO2 emissions by an estimated 171 tons annually. The project includes a partnership agreement for maintenance responsibilities among various public institutions managing the buildings involved.
