Roverul NASA surprinde o imagine impresionantă cu zorii zilei pe Marte • Newsweek România

NASA's Curiosity rover captured a stunning image of dawn on Mars, showcasing ancient, wind-sculpted rocks illuminated by sunlight. The photo was taken shortly after sunrise, revealing a unique rock layer believed to be sediment from volcanic activity. This layer, known as yardang, formed around three billion years ago and is distinct from the surrounding geological strata. Curiosity has ascended over a kilometer on Mount Sharp, which holds a record of Mars' geological history, including evidence of past water bodies. Scientists aim for the rover to reach the yardang layer by 2027 or 2028 to further study the area's geology and potential for past microbial life.
