The Romanian leu depreciated against the euro, reaching a historic high of 5.3527 lei, following the appointment of a new prime minister. The euro increased by 2.21 bani, while the leu also fell against the US dollar, which was quoted at 4.7616 lei. However, the leu appreciated against the Swiss franc, which was at 5.7285 lei. The price of gold decreased slightly to 635.8864 lei per gram.
