The euro reached a historic high against the Romanian leu, with the National Bank of Romania setting the exchange rate at 5.3527 lei per euro. This surpasses the previous record of 5.3447 lei. The euro appreciated by 0.0221 lei compared to the previous session. The US dollar also increased in value, now at 4.7616 lei, while the British pound rose to 6.3036 lei. Conversely, the Swiss franc depreciated to 5.7285 lei. The gold price slightly decreased to 635.8864 lei per gram. Other currencies, such as the Polish zloty and the Swedish crown, were also quoted, with the Romanian leu maintaining its value against several foreign currencies.
