Two earthquakes occurred in the Vrancea seismic area on October 4, 2026, within 20 minutes. The first quake had a magnitude of 2.5 at a depth of 108.1 km, while the second reached 3.1 magnitude at 114.6 km deep. The first quake struck at 05:45:28, located 39 km south of Focșani. The second quake followed at 06:05:18, 51 km south of Buzău. Two additional quakes were recorded the previous day in the same region.
