The total insurance market volume reached approximately 14.2 billion lei in the first half of 2026, marking a 15% increase from the previous year. Despite a slight decrease in the number of claims, the average damage cost rose by 18%. Approximately 3.5 million registered vehicles are currently uninsured, highlighting a significant gap in compliance. The overall insurance sector remains stable, with companies maintaining high solvency ratios and a combined loss ratio exceeding 100% for RCA insurers.
