UAFA representatives praised FIFA's recent efforts to enhance cooperation with national and regional federations. Despite this support, Infantino's candidacy has been challenged by several federations, including the Swiss Football Federation, which withdrew its backing due to calls for greater transparency. UEFA is also expected to present a rival candidate before the November deadline. Infantino announced his intention to run for re-election in May, with elections scheduled for March 18, 2027, in Rabat, Morocco.
